How often should you have a Dermalogica facial?
You should receive a Dermalogica skin treatment about every 4-6 weeks.

Is there anything I need to do before my first appointment?
No, but we do recommend arriving 5 minutes early to fill out a consultation form to help our therapist learn more about you and you skin to best help you.

Can I have a skin treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Yes absolutely! Our skin experts are very knowledge about what is safe/unsafe for you and baby and can completely customise the treatment accordingly. However, we do not recommend peels or skin needling whilst pregnant.

What does a Dermalogica facial involve?
Treatment involves a skin mapping, double cleanse, exfoliation, extractions (if needed), face, neck and shoulder massage, mask, tone and moisturise for skin protection. This treatment focuses on deep cleansing, removing dead skin cells and reducing sebum.

Is Dermalogica toxic free?
Dermalogica selects only the finest ingredients available from eco-safe sources and packages them in recyclable containers. The products are non-comedogenic and are free of occlusive mineral oil, lanolin, S.D. alcohol, formaldehyde and irritating artificial colours or fragrance.

Are Dermalogica products safe?
All of dermalogica’s products are gluten free, vegan, paraben free, cruelty free and contain no artificial fragrances and colours.

Pre-treatment advice

• Avoid wearing make-up prior to your treatment.
• Do not exfoliate your body/face prior to the treatment, for best results.
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
• Remove all jewellery.

Aftercare Advice

• Always wear a sun protection factor of least SPF 15 during the day to protect skin.
• Try to avoid make-up after treatment for 12/24 hours.
• Carry out facial exercises daily (therapist will assist you with routine).
• Carry out a skincare regime daily by cleansing, toning and moisturising twice a day.
• Exfoliate as recommended.
• Ensure products are left on the skin as long as possible to prolong the effects of the treatment.
• Do not use sunbeds or carry out strenuous exercise for 24 hours.

How is it different to other Dermalogica Skin Treatments?
It is Dermalogica’s most powerful resurfacing treatment to date, unlike any other professional treatment available.

It delivers visible results quickly without the adverse side effects of aggressive chemical peels. The flexibility of this particular treatment allows layering of the different peels within the collection to target several concerns in one hit. Both 30 minute and 60 minute peel treatments are available to suit every persons time restraints.

Due to the advanced nature of this treatment a consultation and patch test are required at least 24 hours before your first treatment. A course of treatments is required, with a minimum of 3 treatments, but ideally 6, at regular intervals.

There are important pre-peel preparations and post treatment aftercare that must be strictly followed to achieve maximum results. These will be discussed with you prior to commencing your course of treatments.

Pre-treatment advice

It is good practice to discontinue the use of prescribed exfoliants (such as Retin-A or Renova) at least 48 hours prior to, and during your course of peel treatments.

Remove all make-up

Aftercare Advice

Immediately after your Pro Power Peel treatment, it is normal for your skin to appear slightly red and flushed. As your skin goes through the renewal process you may experience dryness, redness and tightness, as well as some peeling or flaking within a week. You may also notice a temporarily more pronounced appearance of pigmentation as it rises to the skins surface. An aftercare kit will be provided to you (free of charge) to use following your peel. This will give your skin the hydration boost and protection it needs to gain optimum results.

These side effects will subside quickly with proper post-treatment care, starting with the BioSurface Peel After Care Kit (included in the course package)

You will need to avoid direct sun exposure for 2-3 weeks after your Peel treatment and wear a wide brim hat if you must be in the sun. Direct sun exposure must be avoided to prevent hyper-pigmentation.
